E115 Online Section Information

E115 is an introductory course that all incoming College of Engineering freshmen are required to complete. This course's purpose is to better prepare you to be an effective student when using the available computing and technology resources of the College of Engineering here at NC State. So what should you expect when you enter Online E115?

When does class meet?: E115 Section 001 or Online E115 doesn't meet like a normal class. Each student is expected to teach his or her self the material of the course by studying the Online Textbook and completing online assignments.
How will my grade be determined?: Your grade will be determined using the grade distribution from the syllabus.
What will a online final exam look like? What material will be covered?: The entirety of the online textbook will be covered with a single online exam. Each exam will be structured in a similar fashion. Part 1 of the exam will be computer comprehension portion. You’ll be asked to complete tasks on a Windows lab computer. You will be required to navigate the NCSU file tree and use a command line interface.

Part 2 of the exam will be a closed book, closed note portion. You will be asked a series of questions that will test your knowledge of the E115 material.
