A training representative for ADAMS
will be on campus October 18 and 19 to conduct two free training
sessions for faculty, staff and students. The training will be held in the
BAE Department at North Carolina State University and should be of particular
interest to the student clubs involved with the model car projects.
ADAMS is mechanical system simulation software with modeling, analysis, and visualization capabilities. It enables users to produce virtual prototypes, realistically simulating the full-motion behavior of complex mechanical systems on their computers, and quickly analyze multiple design variations until an optimal design is achieved. It is used in a number of NCSU courses and runs in Eos labs on the Solaris and Windows platforms, see http://www.eos.ncsu.edu/software/adams/ On Friday, October 18, ADAMS will hold a training session for NCSU personnel only with the session geared to our interests. Anyone with questions or specific topics to cover on any of the ADAMS products should contact Professor Peter L. Mente, who will relay them to ADAMS so they can structure the session to meet our needs. Also, space is limited, so contact Dr. Mente to reserve a spot (plmente@ncsu.edu or 515-6757). See page 3 of Introduction to MSC.ADAMS for the tentative agenda, which may change based on your feedback to Dr. Mente. On Saturday, October 19, ADAMS will hold a hands-on training seminar on the use of ADAMS/Car (one of the modules), which is a program used extensively by the automobile industry and other vehicle manufacturing companies to model various components of their systems, including suspension and full-vehicle analysis. This training seminar is open to anyone interested in learning how to use the software; no experience is necessary. Anyone interested in attending this seminar should sign up at the following web site: ADAMS/Car Training Opportunities for FSAE/Mini-Baja Teams To register, scroll down to Raleigh, North Carolina, October 19, 2002, and Click here to Register Now! We hope to see a good turnout from students and faculty to take advantage of this generous training opportunity from ADAMS! |
