We have posted our recommended specs for Fall 2013 on our Buying a New Laptop page. Based on our positive experiences over the years, we are again selecting models from Apple, Lenovo and Dell to be included as recommended computers. The specific models and pricing are still being worked out and will be added as soon as possible, after which point ordering will be available through the NCSU Bookstore.
We get a lot of questions about whether Apples can be used in Engineering. While it is true that most Engineering applications are only available for Windows, a student can successfully use a Mac as their primary computer as long as they are willing to deal with a few workarounds.
