We have heard reports that students have been running into a confusing issue when installing Microsoft Office.
Some laptops, including our recommended Lenovo models, come with a trial version of Microsoft Office which expires after a couple of months. The CD that you purchase from the Bookstore has an activation key on a sticker. This activation key only works with the CD and not with the trial version that came preinstalled on the computer.
The simple solution is to ignore the trial version, pop in the CD and install Office from it, and use the activation key when prompted.
