Laptops on Campus

Compute Wherever You Like

Most of the common areas on campus are covered by a wireless signal, allowing you to work from nearly anywhere on campus. For more information on these areas, see our wireless page. As new buildings are planned, constructed and renovated, laptop use is considered when placing electrical outlets as well as wireless access.

One of the benefits of student-owned laptops is the ability students have to collaborate. Students can work on group projects synchronously from different locations, or might all gather with their laptops in the same place.

Engineering Collaboratories

Engineering Collaboratories are specially configured rooms or areas of Eos labs where students, faculty, and staff can meet to work on projects together. Designed with technology to support collaborative work and interaction, these learning spaces typically have one or two Eos workstations connected to a 42-inch plasma monitor, with network connections for individual laptops.
